-George, Washington

-Flagstaff, Ariz.

-Hopeulikit, Georgia

-Tennga, near the GA Tenn border

Christmas, MI

The funny thing about Paradise, MI is that to many people it's anything but that. I wouldn't be surprised if Paradise was home to the largest number of mosquitos anywhere...there sure are a lot of them there! In fact, they sell t-shirts there that say "Michigan's State Bird: The Mosquito".

...Embarrass, Minnesota...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

BTW, there are also Minnesota towns named Climax and Fertile in the Red River Valley, about 30 miles apart from one another. An accident in the former caused an obituary to appear in a local journal. Bill Huntzicker, a former reporter, recalls that "when I started at the Associated Press in Minneapolis in 1967, we were told about the headline that read 'Fertile woman killed near Climax' ...."

They have entire books devoted to headlines like that.

For example, there is a town called Peculiar in one state...I have the article on it, I just need to find it...and one day, the following headline appeared in a nearby town's newspaper: "Peculiar Water Now Safe to Drink".
