Here is the Hyatt Centric rendering from their website.

""Arriving early 2021! A 175-room Hyatt Centric, a newer, upper-upscale flag of Hyatt Hotels Corp., is planned with a rooftop restaurant and bar, as well as an adjacent six-story parking deck.""

"Upper-upscale"  Is that a thing? :tw_no_mouth:

Also where is this going to be?

this is from the Charlotte Ledger newsletter sent earlier today.   Very interesting about Mr Levine and now he is blaming someone else on a project that seems stalled at Providence and Fairview.  Great reporting by the Ledger and very interesting.      Opposite side of Providence Road the Strawberry Hill redevelopment moves forward and Superica will be opening its 2nd outpost there.

""Developers wrangle in court as prime corner sits idle

The corner of a major south Charlotte intersection is remaining undeveloped years after plans for it were announced, as the two developers who were working on it square off in court.  In a court case filed over the summer, a development company run by Charlotte developer Daniel Levine sued a company run by Raley Miller Properties. In 2015, the two had announced they were working together on a mixed-used development on the 11-acre site that would include a grocery store, retail and 225 residential units in buildings up to six stories tall. The plans, though, apparently kept changing.  The land, across Providence from the Strawberry Hill shopping center, was rezoned in October 2015 and again in January 2017. At a community meeting — back when the developers were on friendlier terms — they forecast that the development would be open by summer 2018.  According to Levine’s lawsuit, Raley Miller had agreed to place the land in a jointly held LLC with Levine after the rezoning but hasn’t. ""

I had heard Publix was the tenant but Raley Miller does work a lot with Harris Teeter.

Thanks for this. I live very close to here and have been wondering what in the world has gone on here. It was demo’d in a hurry and then sat....for years. Meanwhile Strawberry Hill has been totally redeveloped (though Superica is taking forever) and the huge Providence Row apartments are done.

Shoulda figured that Levine was involved

I would question the success of a grocery store there though. Both HT and Publix have stores less than a 10 minute drive away (2 in the case of HT) and the much improved new Fresh Market is across the street

this AC by Marriott is one of the best looking hotels going up in Charlotte right now.  Really nice and walked all around it.   Today.  Southpark always has nice things!

Agree, the Marriott next door looks dated by comparison, it needs work.
