Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the red circle is Jerry Richardson's personal family office that he built when he was forced to sell the Panthers. I always thought it was odd sitting next to the Rexford office buildings, but now it will really look odd. It is an immaculate brick office building, but it looks more like a personal residence (complete with three car garage out back) that you would find around the corner in one of the residential neighborhoods.

Gotta make sure the Bently isn't parked in the sun while he goes in to count his billions.   I also find it funny Jerry isn't even listed as a billionaire under countless articles about NC richest people (nor is Ric Elias who owns 20% of Red Ventures which is valued at over 11bil).  Uh...did Jerry blow a billion or something on hookers and blow?  Because I am pretty sure his portfolio is over a billion and he doesn't have permanent residence in FL.

another reason why I'd rather look to Europe for guidance on evolving our city, than to Austin, TX or most other cities in the US.

Appears to me the woonerf concept is a no-brainer for Camden  Road in SE.  Woonerfs don't necessarily eliminate cars, but signage and street furniture and textural changes force cars to slow way down while encouraging people in the streets alongside them.

Those lists are so bogus.

You have to think who is actually putting the list together. Probably some interns or fresh college grads.

Will the Related/Trianon be directly behind the Colony?  It would be nice if there are entrances to both developments on Roxborough so that pedestrians can walk from one development to the other.

Also, are there renderings of the Nucor expansion?

Nucor is just renovating that building probably not big changes on the outside.  

Related is across Roxborough Rd the short road from Morrison Blvd to Colony Rd.

As I recall, Trianon and Colony are separated by Roxborough.  I was stating that I hope that pedestrians will be able to walk from one development to the other.  It would be a shame if the Colony had garbage, utilities, etc. on the Roxborough side that prevented pedestrians from entering on that side from Related’s project.

There’s a lot to look forward to in SP.

We also know more about what an out-of-state commercial real estate firm has planned for the 10-acre site the towers sit on. Crestlight Capital, which has offices in Detroit and New York, is planning to keep the office towers located at 6000 and 6100 Fairview Road. But the firm now wants to bring 300 apartments, an additional 112,000 square feet of medical office space and nearly 40,000 square feet of retail, according to a rezoning petition filed last week with the city of Charlotte.

I'm awaiting the density of the area to produce an urban layout style Target in one of these urban infill developments for the SouthPark residental surrounding neighborhoods.

I think along Sharon where the old Colony apartments were would be a great spot for something like that.

Highwoods the new owners of the Capitol Towers has signed Rhino Deli to a lease which is a good move for that area.

Had some time to kill before dinner in the Southpark area.  We have a new crane up at the Mill Creek apartments behind the Southpark Towers and in front of the Barclay seniors apartments. 

Apex Southpark is just such a good project kudos to Childress Klein.

I think that KJ and I are the only ones who like Lincoln Harris’ traditional designs.  I think that this looks amazing.

I like the fountain at the Nucor HQ, but the buildings need a new  facade.

The Colony redevelopment is taking forever.

Near this Colony dev... never.

I do see a few near the Burger King / Whole Foods area. Panhandlers work that area fairly frequently.
