When you live in DC, you become much closer to your immediate neighborhood. I used to live in Rosslyn (closer to Iwo Jima) and found myself metroing into DC every time I wanted to go out. Clarendon is fun, but feels very bro-ey, which can get old. The issue with Rosslyn going forward is that it is a bottleneck due to the convergence of the Orange and Blue lines. There has been talk of adding another Rosslyn station (possibly on Fort Myers Drive) as well as another tunnel across the Potomac. Given Metro's limited funding at the moment, I doubt this will happen for another 20 years at the soonest.

"The redevelopment of the Landmark Mall, a mostly shuttered shopping mall in Alexandria, is moving through the entitlement process, and owner Howard Hughes is unveiling new details about the first phase.  The Howard Hughes Corp. Senior Vice President Mark Bulmash tells Bisnow the developer is planning a 1.5M SF to 2M SF Phase 1 with a potential mix of residential, retail, hotel, office and other public facilities."

Crystal City / National Landing has surpassed Navy Yard as #1 in the Washington Region as the neighborhood with the most development.
