I can almost guarantee they will be marketing materials, because that is the whole point of making renderings.

Personally, I would say the skyline in those views are to indicate that they have skyline views and that alone. They put elements that are a bit more recognizable for people who don't know the city so that they can emphasize a skyline view. I put this in the same category as the architects for Tony G leaving complete buildings out of renderings to highlight the building design.
