I think I saw some workers on site this morning. Looks like we're finally about to get a swamp drained.

I spoke to one of the workers blasting on the site and he said there is a lot more excavation to come. Evidently they will be taking most of what is in the front half closest to WE out. So cranes will not rise as soon as we thought.

They better get that out before environmentalists see this and claim there's a whole ecosystem down there.  This is worse than rezoning wetlands.

If you zoom in, I'm pretty sure you can see a Middle Tennessee Spotted Woodpecker Frog.  VERY rare.  This could stop the entire project.

Yep.... like a 1987 Dodge K-Car.

Right here on Lookout Mountain, there is a privately owned (non-profit) nature preserve (Lula Lake) that has several waterfalls... 2 of which people can climb down a steep path to get to. The lower falls is an especially steep hike down... and one of the obstacles used to be a 1953 Oldsmobile. Noticed the last time I went there that it appeared to have been removed.

John Matheson told me this morning that he was a the site the other day chatting with some of the crew.  They relayed that the excavation is going to be deep all the way to West End Ave.  Hence, there is still a tremendous amount of rock that needs to be blasted and removed. It may take another 10-12 months just to get the hole squared-out.  Sure appears that this will be the largest underground garage in Nashville.
