Orlando Skyhouse Apartments

I remember the original Jaymont Block proposal to incorporate the existing facades.  I wish I could locate a rendering.

I know the Dolive did.  I always wondered how they were going to manage that without significant damaging the rest of the building.

If my memory serves, Cameron Kuhn was going to demolish the existing facades of the Dolive and do an exact reconstruction of them with a new highrise above.

Nice, it is starting to become visible from I-4 as well, but I recommend only looking if you are the passenger for now.

Nice photo, these guys are building this thing up fast. I noticed at the last Magic game you can see Skyhouse rising into the skyline from Amway. Its going to be a great addition, and fill in a hole from several angles.

What kind of a camera are you using? Super crisp.

Skyhouse is going to do a lot for this sleepy end of Magnolia.  I like that they've maintained the mature trees.

I'd say about a dozen more midrises like Skyhouse in the core, and we'd be reaching a desirable population density that can sustain retail establishments providing basic services and amenities.  When this occurs, the need for a car diminishes greatly and a true urban core will emerge.  Orlando is a lot closer to than than all the other Florida metros except Miami.

This angle shows how skyhouse will fill in the skyline. That area could use a couple more towers IMO. Hopefully that project on Livingston and Orange comes to life soon.

They're starting frame out apartments, do steel work and install plumbing on lower floors.

They're hustling.

I was thinking the same thing. These are the guys I'd want building for me, hard workers.

Watching the "rebuilding" Magic game on tv last night, you can see the tower pretty clearly in the live shot of downtown that they use regularly from the Grey Goose lounge at Amway. Nice needed filler for the void.

I just think it is odd that the garage will be built in a location that will block the lake eola views for the lower floors....

Couldn't see it anyway. Other garage and buildings in the way.
