I tried it out and the broth was really good but the noodles tasted like the starchy packaged pre-made ones you can get in a vacuum pack at the grocery store. Not bad, but there are better options, IMHO.

I've been twice and will likely go often, but I agree it is not the best in town. However, it is nearby and beats the hometown places that dot Colonial (yes, I know that opinion will not go over well).

According to Scott J, the "Truck Stop," the odd hybrid replacement for the original Grafitti Junktion on E. Washington, is no more. I can't say I'm disappointed - it often seemed to be closed.

As someone noted in the article's comments, it was originally built to be a gas station and I, for one, would not object to a return to its original function. (Before you suggest that's too lowbrow for TP, let me remind you there's a laundromat across the street.)

UPDATE: The Sentinel is now suggesting it may become a brewery:

One of the quirkier sights near Lake Lawsona has long been the “JESUS NEVER FAILS” sign in blue neon  on the former Foursquare church as you make the curve at E. Central and S. Hampton by Langford Park.

The Church, which in a previous redo ended up with a metal wall fronting the stucco structure, is apparently still declining and the current occupant has left the building.

No word yet if the iconic sign will continue to shine its message of hope to the neighborhood.

More on Felipe Rodriguez’ in the original Graffiti Junktion location on W. Washington St. as noted earlier by AmIReal.

The update is from Scott J. It’s interesting to note the temporary roof over the old patio area has been replaced by a permanent one featuring cedar planks.

It’s from the owners of GJ and Scott notes we don’t know if Felipe is a real person like Duncan Hines or a figment of a fevered marketer’s imagination like Betty Crocker.

In any event, the redo should take the former gas station upscale a notch, although patrons soused on Patron may send us in the other direction.

Scott J thinks we might finally have a keeper at Felipe Rodriguez’ in the old Thornton Park gas station:

Plating didn't look nearly as nice when I went, but the food was fine and the interior aesthetics were pretty pleasing.   Good addition to the area.

Another mural at Burton’s. The east wall now commemorates the passage of women’s right to vote - it’s been almost a century since the amendment to the US Constitution:

It’s time for Orlando Weekly’s annual Best of Orlando issue and this year, a special award: Best Tribute To Orlando Royalty for the great mural of The Mayor Who Should Have Been Billy Manes on the west side of Burton’s:
