bigboyz05 1 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 The cool late summer weather made swimming seem like an afterthought Wednesday, but a groundbreaking ceremony left attendees wanting to take a dip. During the ceremony for Holiday Springs Water Park, state legislators, city officials, real estate agents and others swam in a rich atmosphere of celebration over Texarkana's newest tourist attraction. The $10 million dollar Holiday Springs should be complete by May 1. The 15 acre park, which is being constructed in Crossroads Business Park along I-30 near the new convention center and hotel in Texarkana, Ark. The park will hold up to 3,000 people and feature five amusement rides, an adult lagoon pool, a wave pool, a leisure pool for children, a splash pad for toddlers, a lazy river, an outdoor water theater, whirlpools and 10 water slides. A highlight will be an enclosed slide that riders enter by way of a launch capsule on a 60 ft high deck. The ride is a 270 ft drop through a looping transparent tube slide. Other features include changing rooms, lockers, concession stands and gift shops. Courtesy of Texarkana Gazette. I think this is a really great thing for Texarkana and I bet it will draw people from at least a 50 mile radius. I'm also glad it's finally being built after all this time.
