New lane added to Essen (between Perkins and 1-10)

9 posts in this topic

So the advocate merely says the a lane will be added between Perkins and 10. One lane on each side? Only one side? Double turn lanes?

I'd link the article but it's a joke.

Anyone know any specifics?

A typical Advocate article.

I'd guess one east bound lane.

If so, that doesn't make sense. Traffic is just as bad going the other way.

This is Louisiana, nothing makes sense. They are building it for the southbound I-10 traffic.

Doesn't have to make sense. You know that.

My logic is that there are three west bound lanes and two east bound lanes....and I know east bound traffic in the afternoon commute is at a standstill. It's probably going to get worse when Staring's capacity is increased.

I think the directions going toward the emergency room get priority.

Or the Advocate could have totally screwed up again and they are adding it in both directions.

I've actually seen some pedestrians in that area....probably time to add sidewalks.
