In the rich world, people seem to be driving less than they used to

The Economist seems to think so:

"In America, where over 50% of the population lives in suburbs, more than half the nation’s 51 largest cities are seeing more growth in the core than outside it, according to William Frey at the Brookings Institution."

Imagine all the problems Orlando could solve and opportunities we could take advantage of if we weren't building more and more roads and spending untold millions on cars, strip malls, insurance, tolls, fuel, etc.
