Cochon Butcher in Germantown to be open by at least September 18th.  Hopefully sooner!  Biked past the building yesterday, progress is steady.

The New Germantown Barista Parlor also appears to be well underway.  Noticed wall framing inside has begun.

Spoke with the manager of the cool springs Jim & Nick's BBQ about the new location downtown. It will be a large three story building with great views but, only 7 parking spaces. They plan to do a little over 12M annually. This restaurant  and the new Martin's BBQ two blocks away will make this area of SoBro smell like hog heaven.

I'm confident that both hangouts would be certain to "rack-up" downtown.

Interesting addition to East Nashville's food options ... I'm not familiar with the Federal Donuts brand, but this sounds like a big "get" for Nashville foodies.

Federal Donuts is a small chain (3 locations) in Philadelphia. Great chicken and donuts, definitely a very popular place in town. I have to say, I'm extremely surprised that they chose Nashville as their first out-of-town location. Seems really odd, and it makes me wonder if the owners have some sort of connection.

After a members event at the Frist Center tonight I took a stroll through the CBD. Union Street is showing more signs of life these days. Wild Eggs Cafe has been open for a few months and appears to have a good following. Jeff Ruby Steakhouse looks to be nearing completion & workers were hanging a sign for a new coffee shop coming to the Bank of America building. Lasaters Coffee. They have locations in Clarksville and Mount Juliet. It's a new brand to me.

Looks like a building/rehab permit on the door and some interior work going on in the former TGI Friday's spot on West End across from Vanderbilt. Always seemed like a prime location for a good sports bar, and never could understand TGI Friday's failure there (aside from that pesky one-way street that made parking tricky). Good to see something moving back into that spot, whatever it might be.
