You have to have a lot more people living in or near the core to support the number of grocery stores that are proposed, however, stores like Trader Joes and Whole foods are destination stores that would do well regardless of location in the Metro.

I have my doubts about a grocery store doing well in Germantown even with the number of apartments. Those apartments have to be filled first and that will take a couple of years with that many units coming on line.

Too bad we will have to live with the ugly cinder block side that faces south above Mellow Mushroom restaurant.  It would appear the thinking is that, eventually, that will be gone and something taller will go up in it's place to obscure that wall.  In the meantime, I hope they at least paint it.  Might be a good candidate for a large "Nashville Walls" painting.  : )

 

Ha, agree.    Maybe continue the Mellow Mushroom psychedelic color scheme on up the wall.
