Restoring a 70-acre island near Tyler

Lake Tyler (actually two linked lakes, labelled Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East, the latter of which features the foreclosed-on HGTV Dream Home 2005), has an island. Both sides of the lake are artificially created, as with most lakes in Texas. Langley island is a long-ignored place which has been trashed for years by fishermen and other boaters on the lake. An effort is underway to restore it - clean it up, bring some wildlife back. Done right (which I doubt it will be), the island could be a great boaters' park and something for the city to brag about. It would also fit in well with Tyler's "Tyler 21" long-range urban plan.
