Not asking for much... Would love to see this shot with all the proposed towers finished AND River North. Oh, and a little closer and clearer. Always surprised how flat the topography looks from this angle. I realize the tallest hills (i.e. walls of the Basin) are to the N-NW-SW.

That's some really groundbreaking architecture right there!

Mid-Rise, Multi-Family housing may be some of the worst architectural projects we see of this generation. Developers are the cheapest they can be with "Luxury" tastes. The margins can also be incredibly tight for both design teams and construction teams. There have been several sub-contractor shops that I've talked to on job sites where they actually avoid these projects because the margins are just too close. While LC is a bigger name in the multi-family world, it just means they have made the most money to keep expanding. Doesn't mean the buildings they developed are anything ground-breaking.

That's because they do it on the cheap. They design the building only to last so long, and all they want to do is turn around and sell it in a minimum of five years, get a strong ROI, and do the next project.

Spot on. It's sad, unfortunate and quite frustrating.

Without looking I think it is zoned industrial. I pass it all of the time. They were grading for a laydown lot at one time.

The problem with that location is there is a ton of truck traffic at that location due to the gasoline storage facilities nearby, the Pilot travel center, and Western Express located on the north side.

Once you pass Briley going west it is all industrial. Now the warehouse that sits on 63rd could be reinvented into retail and a grocery of some sort. That would serve The Nations not to mention it is a straight shot over to the Croley Wood area on the James Ave. bridge that connects the two neighborhoods.
