The new owners are trying to flip it for a quick profit I believe. Probably trying to clear the lot a bit.

Yeah, the demo permit is only for part of the lot, some buildings are staying (maybe leased already?). I tried to google around on the investor dude and he seems pretty small time so I wouldn't expect anything interesting.

If it is the parcel west of 24th and in between Simpkins & Pecan, then someone may have been using it for something they were not supposed to be using it for. It is owned by Metro and no permits have been issued.

Hmmmm...that could be a good spot for some MDHA affordable housing.   : )

Some previous structures that were there have definitely been cleared away.

Affordable housing would be too easy for Metro. They have probably not even thought of that. The wheels in charge probably do not even know they own the property.

The 9.07 acre undeveloped lot at 8033 Highway 100 has sold for $2million to Equitable Property Company, which plans to create a retail campus. The wooded land is zoned commercial. This site is sandwiched between The Church at Harpeth Heights to the west and Temple Road to the east. Stonemeade Stream and Trace Creek touch on the southern portions of the land.

The gold portion marked as "available" is the site:

I do not know how rocky or steep the terrain there is, but it seems to me that 9 acres for $2M in that part of town is a very good investment.. maybe even exceptional.

Its basically flat, really good deal for this much land in a great location. Only issue may be Trace Creek (an off shoot of the Harpeth river) that runs through the property.
