Urban Dog Park is being planned for the thin triangular 1.04 acre site at 5701 Centennial Blvd. in The Nations by Rebeca and Austin Gauthier. An existing 1 story structure from the previous auto industry-related business on the site will be renovated.  Several other buildings have been recently razed.  Mark Watson and Mark Stiles are the architects.

Urban Dog Bar will included nearly 5,000 square feet of indoor space and a 15,500-square-foot outdoor space for dog exercise/play, shaded picnic tables and large-scale outdoor television screens. A small menu of preprepared food items will be offered. The business is expected to employ about 40 people and be operational seven days per week.

Any thoughts about where the construction waste landfill will go after it closes if it closes. I really do not consider this Bordeaux as it is more the Bells Bend area. I think folks are trying to turn this into a political hot potato to make brownie points. IMO, they are turning this into a political issue where there is no issue. They are also turning it into a race issue when there are hardly any people of color on that side of Briley. If anybody were to complain I am surprised it is not the vocal bunch out of Lewis Country Store who were complaining about the possible apartment on the other side of the highway.

A screen shot of the area. The worst smell is the newly created mulch yard that is to the left of the landfill. This is nothing but industrial land here with very few homes and impacts hardly anyone. There are only 3 or 4 homes on the other side of Hwy-12 and the one home directly across from Scott Materials has been trying to get the land rezoned to Multifamily for years. They own 300 or so acres there and is zoned agricultural.

That was my thought as well.  I mean I'm glad they're finding a creative use for an oddly shaped lot, but this is a weird place to put a dog park.

The fence is kind of obnoxious, but the neighborhood probably needs as many dog parks as it can get. I've noticed the West Park and Nashville Prep's sports fields being used as makeshift dog parks. The ideal really would've been having one of the square blocks towards the center of the neighborhood be a nice park/gathering area, but that would've required advance planning, and as it stands everything is on the edges since that's the land that can't be used for houses.

@Dunkijo I definitely avoid making left turns onto Centennial from any of the sharp-angle streets (i.e. the state name ones).

Cypressbrook Company, the developer behind Ariza Bellevue (3 & 4 stories, 417 units), will raise and widen 2,900 ft. of Morton Mill Rd. above 2010 flood levels, as well as building a new bridge across the Harpeth River.  The 12-18 month project will cost $12 million. Other elements of the  $100 + million development also include:

• Donating around 20 acres of the larger 44-acre project site to Metro Parks and Recreation, adding to a nearby 51-acre park area donated by The Dorothy Cate and Thomas F. Frist Foundation in 2019. The new 20 acres could hold anything from an expanded soccer facility to baseball fields or other sports-centric uses.
• Creating a 500-foot bridge which will accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and cars over the Harpeth River, in turn connecting the development site to Coley Davis Road, which runs parallel to Interstate 40.
• Creating a Coley Davis Road bike trail.
• Extending the Harpeth River Greenway south.
• Creating a pedestrian tunnel under the railroad just south of the project site.
• Providing vehicle access to the existing 51-acre park adjacent to the development land.

The 1 story, 4,500 sq. ft. bow truss brick structure on site was built in 1950.  Would be nice if it could be converted for the store, but I doubt that will happen.

The new Metro Juvenile Justice Campus on 14 acres at the former Al Menah Shrine Temple site on Brick Church Pike (a block south of West Trinity Lane) will have a first phase costing $92 million.  When fully-realized, the entire site will cost $230 million. Some of the structures will be 4 stories tall.  The finished campus will feature 7 buildings, including a 3 level parking garage.

It will include larger courtrooms, space for Court Appointed Special Advocates support services, a Metro Nashville Schools student attendance center and private meeting rooms for mediation, attorney-client meetings and therapy sessions. The campus would also feature a new pretrial housing facility for detained youths. Another building would house a "Safe Baby Court" designed to quickly work toward stability for children ages zero to 3 who have been removed from a parent because of neglect and abuse issues.

Nashville allocated $30 million in its 2022 spending plan toward planning, including $10 million for land acquisition for a new facility at the former location of Al Menah Shrine Temple near Interstate 24. If approved, this $92 million would fund the design phase and site preparation and an anticipated groundbreaking in early 2024.

The second phase of construction is estimated to cost an additional $92 million, and the project closeout phase will cost around $50 million. Should these future funds be approved, the new facility is estimated to be complete by summer 2026.

The 2017 plan estimates a new facility with at least 286,800 square feet is needed to bring Nashville's juvenile court up to current standards and support the court and supportive programs through 2035. The current facility next to Nissan Stadium has 95,600 sq. ft. and was built in 1994.

The only new news is the price tag went up by 10 million, from 130 to 140 million. Nothing exclusive here as this has been on the Metro site for some time.

Apex Riverstone (4 stories? 350 units, internal garage?) will be undertaken by Alpha Residential on 4.96 acres at 230 Cumberland Bend in MetroCenter facing the Cumberland River to the east.  The developers paid $11 million for the site a little over a year ago. Currently, the Paddock Building (1 & 2 story warehouse/industrial) is on the site.  No renderings yet.

Alpha recently sold Apex Glassworks Residential which they completed in MetroCenter in 2020 for $93 million.  They are nearing the finish of their Apex Marathon Village as well.

115 Duluth Ave. will be  a  6 story, 300. unit residential complex with 2,500 sq. ft. of ground level retail and an internal 363 capacity garage on 3 acres in Charlotte Park. Abiete Real Estate is the developer, having bought the property fro $5.12 million. a year ago. Consortium is the architect; Catalyst Design Group is in charge of land planning/engineering.  They will go before the Metro Planning Commission on March 9th to get the property rezoned to mixed use from industrial. Currently, a 1 story structure is on the. site that is home to Brantley Sound Assoc.

The Nashville Post article about Arcade on Vernon back in 2020 also mentioned "a trail to connect West Park to Charlotte Park Annex via The Annex with a future Metro greenway." Does anyone know if there are still plans for this, and if so where it'd go? I can't tell if that is meant to be a pedestrian bridge over Richland Creek + Briley, or just a real sidewalk along James Ave on the existing bridge (which would still be amazing).
