The 30,000 sq. ft. building will be known as Sylvan Station and will also house a restaurant and at least one additional retail tenant. It indirectly across Charlotte Pike from the under-construction Sylvan Heights Hill Center and the kaput proposed Stonehenge plan for the abandoned Madison Mills Factory.

Massive rezoning effort to preserve or properly redevelop the former Tennessee State Prison and surrounding lands. Includes a 26-slide show of the facility's history.

Madison Mill developer decides to rescind the mixed-use residential/retail concept.  Still plans on doing something with the site, but may be just office, retail, storage units, parking, and even some light industrial.  Those boneheads at Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association, led by Councilwoman Kathleen Murphy, will end up kicking themselves in the future for being so stubborn with their myopic views.

Could this property, or part of this property,  be used to help provide homes to the homeless?

No idea, but it would be a nice addition to the Hillsboro HS campus.   Not that Metro could afford the asking price.

Have to say, though, that I'm not sorry to see the tire store gone.   I only went in there a couple of times, once last winter for a battery and another time last summer for a punctured tire.    They were the most unfriendly bunch.    I left both times and went elsewhere.

It is going to be a Freebirds Taco Restaurant.
