From Nashville Post:

Dallas-based real estate and investment firm Provident Realty Advisors Inc. has landed a permit related to its storage facility under construction in McKissack Park north of Midtown.

The Nashville office of Turner Construction is handling the job, with the permit valued at about $8.7 million. The site has an address of 512 26th Ave. N. and is located near a Nashville Fire Department station.

The building will stand three stories and offer about 37,000 square feet.

Last year, Provident paid $3.9 million for the roughly 1.5-acre site, last home to Nashville Plywood Inc.

Provident has yet to release a rendering. (Image below shows an example of the company’s work).

Provident has long eyed Nashville. At one time, the company had a contract to purchase the Tennessee Education Association' headquarters property located at 801 Second Ave. N., eying a 371-unit apartment project that failed to materialized. Likewise, Provident wanted to undertake a self-storage facility project in SoBro near the MCC Roundabout.

Demolition looms and an end-of-year groundbreaking is slated in Midtown for what would be, if operational today, Nashville’s first Staybridge Suites Hotel.

The hotel will be located at 350 21st Ave. N., on a site that spans 1.6 acres and was once home to a Nashville Fire Department station.

The hotel will offer 163 rooms, with four floors of hotel space sitting atop a one-story parking garage, according to Jeff McKay, DLG vice president of development.

Demolition of the fire station building is slated to begin next week.

Demo on the fire station began a few days ago, so it's already coming down.

That area of Charlotte around 21st Ave North is definitely filling in. Starbucks just opened across the street, and Zaxby's is building a block or two away. A hotel seems like a good fit.

From today's Tennessean:

A locally based developer of hotels and retail shopping centers has paid $2 million for a just-over 2-acre former church location in West Nashville with future development plans.

"it's a good opportunity to be in that neighborhood," Nitesh Patel of NNP Investments said about the area near Interstate 40. "But as of right now, we don’t have any plans."

NNP Investments' purchase of the 2.30 acres at 5701 Robertson Ave. from trustees of Richland Baptist Church comes as the developer separately has a new Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel under construction on Royal Parkway near Nashville International Airport.

The West Nashville project would be the developer's first in that area. A vacant 17,072-square-foot church building sits on the site near the White Bridge Road exit off I-40.

Metro Councilwoman Mary Carolyn Roberts would prefer if a hotel wasn't build there.

You think it's safe to assume that this will be torn down for a hotel to take its place?
