The Rock Block Flats (6 stories, 36 units) that Tony Giarratana has proposed for Ellison Place won unanimous approval at the Metro Board of Zoning Appeals meeting yesterday.

Concerning Hillsboro Village, I think it could use some revamped lighting for the sidewalks-the current lights are just what was underneath the white domes when they were taken off a couple of decades ago. So those lights have been there a long time and really don't fit well with the neighborhood.

Will that brick building be demolished or redone on the inside?

The 6 story brick building is the former Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and was built in the 1950s.  For the past 45 years it has been a multi-purpose facility known as the West Building for Baptist Hospital, now Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown.

The bottom rendering is of the 60 bed rehab hospital. We are still a bit confused as to the placement of all of the buildings as to the relationship as to what is currently fenced off.

Something is not adding up yet as we do not have a good site plan.

It sounds like they will be putting the new Midstate Medical Building(the top rendering) in the parking lot that is in front of the current Midstate building, across Church street from the Midtown Medical Plaza. Based on the rendering they’ll likely be knocking down the existing Midstate building.

In fact, based on this rendering(from another Nashville Post article: https://www.nashvillepost.com/business/health-care/article/21098186/saint-thomas-midtown-builds-out-womens-hospital )

I’d think the layout would look something like this:

Apologies for the finger drawn markup, lol
