I am sure there are future plans for that land for something else. Baptist had plans for it but when they were taken over by St Thomas they were scraped.

Odyssey at the Park (5 stories,  75 condos, 10,500 sq. ft. retail/restaurant space, 130 capacity garage) has secured a $40.76 million loan to begin construction at 3100 Long Blvd. Groundbreaking is supposed to happen in next two months.  More than 40% of the units have been pre-sold.  New rendering below.

The next phases of the project (Athena at the Park and Mosaic at the Park) will start over the next few years.

I just noticed something I really like about Martin Flats at Martin & Hamilton: parking access is entirely off the alley from either Martin Street or Chestnut Street. No additional cutouts on the street, maximizing on-street parking. And they have reserved spots for their future residents.

 

And for at least the next year, the neighborhood can enjoy the Turnip Seed community garden & Grassroots Art Park with a view of the old Sounds scoreboard in the distance. Someone will have to share a sneak peak of the interior courtyard.

A new store to Nashville, Faherty, opens today in 12 South (2315 12th Ave. S., former Trim location). They sell men and women's casual clothes and, retail wise, an impressive addition to Nashville. It also nice in that almost all the other clothing stores on 12th cater only to women.

Marathon Village: Chartwell will begin demo immediately to prepare for construction of the Chartwell at Marathon... 388 units (10 of which are townhomes), just a block away from another 445-unit proposal on Herman Street and another mixed use on 14th Avenue North.  Bretnwod-based Chartwell Residential has received  a $63.2 million loan from Principal Life Insurance Co.
