Gray Street is now closed from the alley behind the Packing Plant down to the alley behind Diskin's Cider. Construction barriers have been going up along Merritt, Gray, & the alleys over the last several days. Last night was the last time for people to  park along Gray for now. In the first image, you can see a truck towards the higher end of Gray in the alley with workers starting to jackhammer around the overgrown area. Good to see the next phase of the Finery getting started!

I tried to keep reference points available with the building corner, dumpster area, hydrant, & curb to note the drastic changes expected along Gray.

Finally, the alleys need names here & all across Wedgewood Houston. I'm glad Wedgewood Houston is leveraging access & activating the use of all these alleys. But they are going to need names with the number of people and changes planned here. The alley off Merritt Avenue isn't going to be enough description since there are two on that block & another pedestrian street is planned. Or a worse location description, the alley to alley intersection a block south of Chestnut Street & Hagan Street.

Loving the pictures but don't always know what projects are being posted.  I'm guessing that's the first phase of The Finery. 

I also appreciate the captions you guys give describing the various angles/locations where the pics are taken.  For the general topic threads like this one, it'd be very helpful if you guys would also identify the project, especially now that several of the location-specific threads have been combined into broader categories.  Many of the smaller and midsize projects are obscure to me, but I do like getting a sense of where the activity is happening. Thanks.

Demo Plus is onsite at the old Queen's Tree Surgery. This will be the site of a mixed use project going in at 625 Hamilton Ave.

The Finery development was sold some time after Phase 1 & 2 (Six10 Merritt & Twelve60 Martin) were completed when the creation of opportunity zones through the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017  further expanded the scope of plans for Wedgewood Houston

@DMilner's update about 625 Hamilton at the Hamilton & Hagan intersection & connecting to Moore Avenue means another block of mixed use is starting to break ground in Wedgewood Houston. The western side of Wedgewood Houston now has 3-5 city blocks with construction underway, while the northern side is finishing up Phase 1 of the May Hosiery, around halfway through Phase 2 of the May Hosiery (3 buildings up with windows, high rise hasn't started yet), and getting approval for another 2-3 blocks of Phase 3 of the May Hosiery, which will abut the Finery around Martin Street and Gray.

Where is the street activation?  I'm guessing that Harold and Owen LLC has some connection to the Harold and Owen Bradley families and I'm also guessing that those gentlemen would want their namesake building to interact better with Music Row.

Pretty sure Harold and Owen wouldn’t want 1920’s era homes on Music Row knocked down to build an ugly condo building with what appears to be a garage door in the front.

Chartwell Residential is eyeing a residential project of unknown height and units at 1601-1623 State St. on 1. 52 acres. One small 2 story non-historic building will have to be razed on the 7 parcel lot. The land cost will be about $2.66 million.

467 Chestnut Street from Capital Investment Group

I'm sharing a few slides from CIG's presentation to South Nashville Action People (SNAP) concerning the planned mixed use development at 467 Chestnut Street in Wedgewood Houston. I am not sure how far along CIG is in the process. They have plans for including affordable housing in their unit mix of around 151 units with commercial space & mentioned they have reached out to the Mayor's Office with affordable housing questions. Access to the development will be off the alley. They do share the parking lot with the old United Record Pressing location at 453 Chestnut Street that may limit whether they will be closing all of the driveway entrances along 453-467 Chestnut. However, no new driveways off of Chestnut will support AJ Capital's planned bike lanes along Chestnut. Braxton Brewery is the planned commerical tenant for their development. Braxton expanded their distribution to the Nashville area in 2017. Braxton currently operates two locations in walkable & historic neighborhoods in Cincinnati, OH, & across the Ohio River in Covington, KY. The planned brewery for this Wedgewood Houston development will make three. More details can be found in the attached images.

A 2 story medical office building is being planned by Towery Development for the roughly 1 acre lot at 627 19th Ave. North in North Nashville. It will specialize in post-surgery care and rehab work. AHC and Blalock Partners are sharing architectural duties, and Solomon Builders will be the contractor.
