31st and Bellwood will be the name and location of a new 3-4 story, 8 unit townhome project on .33 acre at 215 31st Ave. North in West Park. Ross Schilling is the developer, and has enlisted rootARCh for design, and Provence Builders as the contractor. He hopes to break ground ASAP.

National Trust for Historic Preservation has announced that guided walking tours of Music Row will be offered to the public for the first time beginning this month.

Slated to begin on June 20, the tours are billed as offering an overview of Music Row’s history and the various artists who have recorded there, providing behind-the-scenes stories from the music industry.

A portion of each ticket sold will support a Music Row preservation fund, a newly created entity.

"Over here, you'll see the brand new SESAC building.  Now, just imagine, a few years ago there was a building here where Kris Kristofferson used to write his hit songs...but of course, they tore it down to build this new building.   Over here is Owen Bradley's Quonset Hut where he recorded Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, Johnny Cash, etc...but you can't really see it because they ended up building a new building around it...but it's there...if you use your imagination..."

The .41 acre site at 2012 West End Ave where a Jack in the Box was until recently, could be the home for a residential project. It has been owned since 2004 by Cleveland Associates LP/Nordman Associates, and they just applied for a metro permit to allow for water and sewer lines under the moniker "West End Residential."

It has been rumored for some time, and now Belmont Church is listing a piece of their property at 1001 16th Ave. South (SW corner of 16th Ave. South and Grand Ave.) for $5 million. The .7 acre lot includes a nondescript 1 story brick building that housed their youth ministry for decades.

The struggling church also owns more property on the corner directly east (SE corner of 16th Ave. South and Grand) that includes the one time Koinonia Bookstore/Coffeehouse.  Would not be surprised to see that sold off at some point as well.

Hello from Charlotte & apologies if this is the wrong thread, but does anyone know what is happening to the parcel at 1911 Convent Pl in Hillsboro Village?   Rented there about 10 years ago and I saw the original structure has been torn down.

Thanks!

Not sure if it’s the exact parcel but there are some condos called Convent Place that are proposed on that street, albeit on the other side of the street. It may have something to do with that.

Proposed 20 story for Murphy and I 440.

GBT Proposing the project where a Fifth Third Bank branch is currently located. 3419 Murphy Road. Kathleen Murphy the council person is say neighbors oppose due to light pollution and traffic congestion.

I tend to agree that this is a bad location for a project of this scope.

https://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/news/2018/06/25/20-story-project-looms-for-site-off-west-end-i-440.html

GBT has not done a project of this nature before and that can make for another reason it may not happen.

What neighbors? The 11-story office building across the road or the gas station next door?

Whether or not they can pull it off is one thing, but I’m not inherently against a 20 story development for this location. 440 effectively buffers the nearby residential areas.

Perhaps you’ve never seen the Milky Way with your own eyes. I would suggest getting about a 1000 miles from nowhere to see it. It’s spectacular.

Though it's not as spectacular as it is on a ship at sea, if you go out to the more rural areas of the Cumberland Plateau it is pretty amazing on a moonless night.
