Someone please tell me that little commercial strip on Elliston Place is protected... I don't know what I would do if I woke up one morning to the news that some short-sighted d-bag developer was buying the block so they could demolish it and put up a Fairfield Inn or something.  *SO MANY* of my favorite Nashville memories are closely tied to that stretch.  Elliston Place Soda Shop and Exit/In specifically are almost like family members I love them so much.

The Gold Rush died two years ago when he took over. I was a regular before that, and only ever went back once for someone's going away event.

Yeah...when we talk about places that need to stay the same, I'd put Elliston Place WAY above the dairy on Church.  This is the kind of place that definitely needs to always be a part of the city.

Most of the graffiti has been removed and general sprucing up of exterior of the one time car dealership building that takes up most of the block between Church St. and Hayes St. along 16th Ave. North.  Perhaps it is getting prepped for a purchase?  Great old 1 & 2 story masonry structure that could serve many purposes once the Broadwest is completed (caddy corner to the SW), along with other redevelopment in that neighborhood.

This is owned by the Reed family and I understand that they are not interested in selling but might consider a long term lease of some type.

Yeah. I was a Gold Rush regular for years. In my circle of friends, we kinda took shifts moving away. Our homecoming was always the back corner booth at Gold Rush, where someone in the group was holding down the fort. Then one day, it went all yuppie, and we never went back. So my friend bought Twin Kegs and all is well.

Belcourt Village (4 stories, 24,000 sq. ft. office space, 10,000 sq. ft. retail, 28 residential units, internal garage) update.  Up to 4th level of underground garage.

The development for the 2 acre site at 2400 21st Ave. South where the former HQ of Catholic Diocese of Nashville was located has landed a $12.2 million construction loan.  The 1957-era brick structure will be torn down to make way for a residential project.  No timeline, details, or renderings of the project have been released yet.

"Faith Family Medical Center" is planned for a lot next  to St. Thomas

Faith Family Medical Center launched the public leg of a $7.5 million campaign to build a new clinic in the heart of Midtown’s medical corridor on Wednesday.

-  It will be 3 stories and cover 12,000 sq. ft. at SE corner of 21st Ave. North and Murphy Ave.

- Will feature an expanded pharmacy, more exam rooms, a connected wellness center, and space for behavioral health services.

-  They have already raised $6.5 million of the $14 million budget to build.

Great to see that Faith Family announced their plans. This has been in the works for quite some time. FFMC fills a gap in our health care system in Nashville treating people who work but don't have major medical and hospitalization insurance. HCA is a large in-kind contributor, as is Ascension (St. Thomas) and many others. Every patient pays what they can afford. There is a $10 minimum. Example: A single, middle-aged male had moved from St. Louis to Nashville to take a job here, but the employer did not provide health care coverage.  The man had been off his medication for months  because he could not afford  them at $342 / month after losing his job in St. Louis. FFMC was able to obtain those meds at a much, much lower cost, a cost the patient could afford, and now he says he feels normal, again and he considers FFMC a "God send."
