SRO?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_room_occupancy

From wiki:

Single room occupancy (more commonly abbreviated to SRO) is a form of housing that is typically aimed at residents with low or minimal incomes who rent small, furnished single rooms with a bed, chair, and sometimes a small desk.[1] SRO units are rented out as permanent residence and/or primary residence [2] to individuals, within a multi-tenant building where tenants share a kitchen, toilets or bathrooms. SRO units range from 80[3] to 140 square feet.[1] In the 2010s, some SRO units may have a small refrigerator, microwave and sink.[1]

SROs are a form of affordable housing, in some cases for formerly or otherwise homeless individuals.[4] SRO units are the least expensive form of non-subsidized rental housing, with median rents even in New York City ranging from $450 to $705 per month.[5] The term is primarily used in Canada and US. Since the 1970s and 1980s, there has been an increasing displacement of SRO units aimed at low-income earners due to gentrification, with SRO facilities being sold and turned into condominiums.[6] Between 1955 and 2013, almost one million SRO units were eliminated in the US due to regulation, conversion or demolition.[7]

ServiceSource International is scouting for new office space, reportedly downtown.  They currently take up about half of the 20 story tower with their name at the top at 201 4th Ave. North since 2010.  They employ 720 people, and appear to be expanding.  It is not clear if they are wanting to stay in that building, or move to another larger home.

The article mentions them seeking 100k sqft. 20k less than their current lease.

I’ve been told that the article is wrong. They are definitely not downsizing. Also they are not doing great as a company which doesn’t make sense.

Lord how long has the part of 8th between Commerce and Church been shut down?

Who’s bright idea was that??? I was in Austin all weekend not a single sidewalk/lane shutdown anywhere in the city that I saw.

I could show you  a lot of closed streets and sidewalks due to construction just around downtown and West Campus.  :)  Unless you are only referring to entire streets and not just lanes.

I guess I just missed them. It's just silly to me to see entire lanes closed, especially on such a busy road.

First Baptist Church has landed a $27 million permit for the 78,760 sq. ft. addition and renovation work on some of their existing structure.  R.C. Matthews is the contractor.

LOL.... looks like it was 'designed' on an Apple IIe.  Love the bachelorettes getting drunk on the roof. Dude should show a modicum of originality. And would be great if Reba, Carrie, Brad and Luke sued for unauthorized use of their images.
