A 5 story, 272,000 sq. ft. office building is being planned by Syed Adnan Sarwar Shamin at 26 Century Blvd. in the Century City complex north of the airport. This would be adjacent to an existing 550,000 sq. ft. office building already there. No word on architect so, obviously, no renderings yet.

They need to build a 5 story parking garage to accommodate the needs of the existing tenants to eliminate the current off-site parking and shuttle bus service

Eastwood Village--the conversion of Hobson United Methodist Church structures (circa 1851 and 1924) at 1716 Greenwood Ave. into offices, retail, and residential space--continues with another $1 million permit.

Also: the 1012 Main St. mixed-use project (3 stories, 21 units, 1,500 sq. ft. of retail) has been granted a $4.44 million permit for Avenue Construction to continue work.

They should put a stage for live bands and a dance floor just to seal the deal (I have two degrees from Lipscomb so I can say that)

Let us not forget there was a strip club in an old church where Capitol View is today, with couch dances in the choir loft

On second thought, let's forget that...

Nashville Post just posted about Fat Bottom coming to East, but I don't have a subscription with them.  Can anyone post the article? Would love to read it.

The owner of Fat Bottom Brewing is planning a taproom for East Nashville — a return of sorts to his craft beer company’s roots.

To be operated as its own entity indirectly associated with Fat Bottom, the taproom will be located at 2518 Gallatin Ave. in the building last home to Eastside Church of Christ. Nashville-based Anchor Investments, led by President Micah Lacher, paid $3 million for the property in June 2019 and plans to convert a modernist structure positioned to the right of the older sanctuary space into a 26-room boutique hotel. (Read more about that here.)

Nashville-based Daniels + Chandler Architects is handling design work, according to a document submitted to Metro. The microbrewery and taproom will be located in the basement of the traditional building, with an event space to take the former sanctuary space above the brewing and drinking area.

The Post was unable to determine when the taproom is expected to be operational.

Led by President Ben Bredesen, Fat Bottom opened a brewery on Main Street in East Nashville in 2012 before moving to The Nations in 2017.

Bredesen could not be reached for comment. However, a source with information about the effort and who asked to go unnamed said the plan is to have the microbrewery feature various beers created by Fat Bottom brewers in an effort to let them experiment and be creative beyond their normal work. Brewing will be done on site, and the taproom is expected to also feature beers from other local breweries and a small menu, the source said. As such, the future taproom will act independently of the Fat Bottom in The Nations.

Another substantial property along the Dickerson Pike corridor north of downtown has sold: 836 and 838 Dickerson, currently home to Alpha Graphics in a 25,000 sq. ft. structure on 1.69 acres has been purchased for $4.3 million by an unknown LLC. All along this stretch there have been numerous mixed-use residential projects announced in the past 4 years.

One more bit of info on the hotel planned for 2864 Elm Hill Pike: it will be a Holiday Inn at the former site of the American Legion Post 88.  Still no word on size, number of rooms, or rendering. The structures were cleared away several months ago.

Nashville Barrel Company will build a 2 story tasting room and distillery at 132 Green St. in the Railyard District. They purchased the .16 acre site in July for $250,000. The new structure will cost about $1 million.  S+H Group is the architect. They are hoping for a March 2021 groundbreaking, and an opening by Sept. of 2021.

A special exception related to height will be needed for the project to move forward. A Nov. 15 hearing with the Metro Board of Zoning Appeals has been scheduled.

You are also likely shocked (as am I) that Nashville has a “Pie Town.” Apple, blueberry, pecan??? I keep looking for a history of bakeries in the neighborhood.

Developers certainly do come up with some “creative” names to rebrand a section of town to enhance their marketing efforts!
