The buildings in the right rear are fairly small and will consist of 3, three story buildings if I remember the drawings I saw. I was actually looking at this last week. I could have posted the rudimentary images but there was nothing really special about them as they do not address a main public street and will be hidden by the library.

Does anyone know if the Ordway / N 16th Street development residential units are eligible for Non-owner occupied STR permits?  I generally love this building but that's a detail you need to have a full picture of what it's adding to the community mix.

The SE corner .83 acre lot at Dickerson Pike and Douglas Ave. (1235 Dickerson) which had been earmarked for a 17 unit townhome development. has now changed hands for $1.8 million. The new owner is an LLC affiliated with Rise Development.  A 1 story retail structure was demolished on the site last year. No word on if they wish to continue with the same plan, or have new ideas.

2309 Dickerson Pike at Duke street. Lot cleared. Latest permit says 46 1-Bedroom units. Newer Airbnb (Navy Blue buildings) condo development behind this lot on Duke Street.

Work continues on the 3,751 sq. ft. Whataburger site on 1.52 acres at 5055 Old Hickory Blvd. (former Applebees location). It will employ 130 people and be open by the fall.

 WPLN story regarding Berkshire Place redevelopment.

Laurel & Pine will be the name of the Vintage South Development at 905 Cherokee in East Nashville. It will be 5 stories with 166 units (The Flats at Laurel & Pine), along with 25,000 sq. ft. of commercial adaptive reuse within several 1 story industrial spaces (15 K office, 5 retail suites, and a restaurant space).  There will also be 288 parking space on surrounding surface lots.  For the residential: Bernard L. Weinstein & Assoc. are the architects, with Centric Design handling design, and Bacar Construction serving as the contractor.  For the commercial: Centric is the architect, CITY Construction is the contractor.  Work on the site is underway.

Some notes:

Permanent fencing up around 1000 Woodland Street (former Family Dollar and future Edley’s). Their grading permit should be issued soon.

Pipe bracing was delivered to HG Hill’s new property at 1201 Gallatin Avenue. It’s unclear what work they will be doing but it may just be to stabilize the current retaining wall. Maybe @bwithers1has an update.

I took a drive out to the Hermitage Publix (for some no sales tax groceries) and took the opportunity to grab some photo updates on projects happening out that way.

1. Dube Orthopedics building. OHB at Juarez Drive. Steel framework seems basically complete. This one seems to be moving along pretty slowly. (Rendering from MZArch.com)

2. Whataburger under construction diagonally across from Dube’s new building. That baby is coming along at a speed suitable for a fast food joint. (I can hardly wait!!!)

3. Just opened at the intersection of Lebanon Pike and Andrew Jackson Parkway, a combo store of a D G Market and pOpshelf, Dollar General’s newest concept. (I have not yet been in the store.) (This was previously a Dollar General Market, basically a regular Dollar General with a small grocery store included.)

Red pin on the map is the Dube Orthopedic location.
