Fencing has been up for what feels like a couple months now. The parking lot was being used by some of the local trailer BBQ and tent clothing sales folks, it's possible they put the fencing up to keep those folks out.

The only permits that I have seen were done a while back, but they do own the land and have two projects planned on two adjacent lots.

800 Main St., which is currently a 3 story commercial/office building with large surface lot on 3.7 acres, is going to add 3 more floors of residential on top of the existing structure, and build a new 6 story structure (including an internal garage with capacity for 338 cars) on the eastern side of the lot. The total amount of residential units will be 149. There will also be 16,420 sq. ft. of new retail at ground level along Main St.  Existing landlord Adam Leibowitz of Double A Development will be undertaking the additions. No word on architect, contractor, or start/finish projections.

This will be on the MDHA design review agenda next week. NORR is the same architecture firm company doing 909 Division. The developer is Double a development which is Adams company.

Total number of units looks to be 149 with no retail or commercial space. Another missed opportunity and I hope MDHA throws it back in his face.

When you have a project of this size with this much frontage with no street activation like Amplify on Main, another one of his projects, it is time he is called out.

That should be some nice infill. Bummed they didn't push the Woodland side of the structure up to the sidewalk though (just the new portion, not the addition over the existing building).

Plans are clearly early on, but it will be interesting to see if they will be revised to show the required 4'-0" wide planting strip as well as the 10'-0" sidewalk.

That is pretty simple compared to the actual road section the Collector plan calls for which would require said planting strip/sidewalk PLUS 13'-0" extra for future expansion.

The 13'-0" extra on both sides are so the proposed expansion could incorporate multi-modal transportation

Looks like there will be 8,000+ sq ft of retail along Main St.

I feel better then I was looking at the usage page and I didnt see any, but that is still not a lot considering the size of the project and it fronts 2 streets.

I am having real difficulty seeing stuff right now because my computer is on the fritz too. I have to stop what I am doing and go back and restart things. Pages are doing funky things too. I dont want to but a new computer.

I'm going to say called it!  This is the lot I was saying a few weeks ago seemed overripe for a big project.  Any other lots folks want to see developed?  I'll comment on them too.  ; )

The .6 acre lot at 949 Main St.  is finally being offered up for sale after sitting vacant forever.  It is an undisclosed asking price. Zoning allows for up to 7 stories and 78,000 sq. ft.

It’s the description of the property for Metro records it appears . When it was on LoopNet there was a nice shot of the silo/tower. That’s sort of how I figured it out.

Totally agree.  There's so much parking capacity in Five Points.  Wouldn't miss this lot as far as overall capacity.  Although it's my Go-to for getting a Pizza, i'll happily give it up to add housing units & improve walkability.  I hope to god they soon get rid of minimum parking requirements in Five Points.  I am sure developments will still provide some parking.  But it's ridiculous that Five Points still has outdated min parking requirements.  These requirements are why we're only getting 2 restaurants (& 20+ unnecessary parking spots!) on the 1000 Woodland lot.  Such a shame.

On Main Street Nashville’s online article about the official groundbreaking event (which took place well after construction was underway), a Whataburger regional manager said opening was expected to be in November.
