CA South Development has purchased two industrial properties covering 8 acres at 690 and 1106 Davidson Ave. (facing the Cumberland River to the south) for $21.5 million. Belpointe, a large private equity investment firm out of Connecticut, is part of this project. CA South is known for residential/mixed-use projects.

I am pretty sure this made it through Metro council back in November/ December last year. Some permits were pulled in 2020, but no permits have been pulled since.

I think this is the motel that Stone Cold Steve Austin (or maybe another from that era) says he lived at while he was working his way up the wrastlin' ranks.

The neighbors in the area around Eastwood Village are up in arms over an SP variance request that would allow non-owner-occupied short term rentals in some of the new houses. Our neighborhood association and CP worked closely with the previous owner to ensure the development didn't overly disrupt the neighborhood. Hoping the variance is denied. Also talk of a future variance request to allow the former church space be used as an event space. Also something the neighbors made sure to keep out of the SP originally. Could get interesting.

One way to make our neighborhood more affordable is to hold their feet to the fire on residential units like these.  Those homes will sell...just at a slightly reduced price.

If the neighbors raise a stink at the Planning Commission it will likely be denied. The residents around Kennect were able to get the STR request denied for that SP.

A bit more info on the 72 home development at Elvira & Keeling that has slowly been rolling-out over the past several years. PLR Properties is the developer; Dewey Engineering is in charge of planning.
