Can someone with a greater knowledge of building construction/demolition tell me what these angled metal poles are for?

They removed the roof of the building, so I imagine the poles are supporting the walls until the addition is complete and a new roof is in place. That's my best guess. I am really curious what the end product will look like.

Edit;

I just posted a whole rant about "tilt up" construction. Then I looked at the picture again and realized that's not at all what this building is. I just glimpsed at the poles and made a quick judgement.

Anyways, they are just there for lateral support of the walls during remodeling.

Retail and residential planned for 2525 Gallatin Avenue (two parcels over from the Cobra Bar). The developers are set to go in front the planning commission on Thursday for approval. Interestingly, the developers are under contract to sell this land and the plans that go along with it -- see below. The vacant space between Cobra and this lot is also for sale.

Behind paywall: Jerry's Artorama is relocating from Antioch to 711 Main Street. I'm not familiar with the Antioch location, but I loved the one in Knoxville. This will be a great addition to the neighborhood, IMO.

I was oh so close to buying a house on Sharpe back in 2010.  Still kicking myself but it needed a lot of work and I found a move in ready place up in Inglewood.

From Nashville Post:

The owners of Colonial Liquors in Melrose are moving forward on their East Nashville hotel to be marketed via Airbnb.com.

Kathryn Bubis and Bobby Bubis have landed a permit, valued at $9,800, to raze a small building on the site, which has an address of 943 Main St.

The Bubises plan to undertake the $8 million project, which will offer a three-story 30,000-square-foot hotel tentatively called Bridal Suites Hotel.

Nashville-based TLP Architects is designing the structure.
