Sprouts is officially out for the Hill Center Greenwood development.  Metro has approved the rezoning for the project, and, as has been mentioned earlier in this thread,  it does look like it will be a Publix instead.

It looks like 2 more tenants have signed leases for the retail in front of the old Wal-Mart - a dental practice and a great clips. Blah

I saw that....I don't think there's anything there I will be taking advantage of....

I seem to recall that when they announced that building they were advertising that it would be upscale retailers that East Nashville doesn't have. I guess...we don't have those....but I don't see anything upscale about them either. It's good it will serve a need other than drinking alcohol....I think we have that covered....

Well dangit. I would've bet on a Starbucks and something like a Chipotle or Moe's locating in this complex. I was way off.

Orange Theory might be considered an 'upscale' fitness center.  Other than that...

By the looks of several Metro Council bills on the 11/6 docket, it appears there are going to be resident and visitor permits soon for the Lockeland Springs area.  I assume this is due to the success of businesses in Five Points and people parking more & more down the neighborhood streets.  Complaints by residents about loud people at night walking to their cars, etc.  And also residents themselves not being able to find street parking near their own homes.  Probably an inevitability.  Windfall for the pay lots and rideshare.

Anyone have info on the Roxy Theater in McFerrin Park area of East Nashville?  Last news is about a year old.  Developers, Tom Morales & Elliott Kyle own it and plan to refurbish and develop it.  Sound like it could be really cool, but there's no recent info.  There's a Nashville Design Week Block-Party event on November 15, 5:30-9pm on Wilburn Street & it appears the Roxy building may be open for perusal.  Maybe I will find out more from folks at that event.

I hope that Public Works does a better job of doing the assessments. In 12 South they twice issued permits without even doing the assessments(surveys). Also, they simply took homeowners word on blocked driveways, rather than checking on the police records. I also want to say the Traffic & Parking Commission appears very anti business in the meetings I've watched. When we moved to 12 South, we understood that parking would be hard and we only looked at homes with alley parking (in our case a garage).  So many of my neighbors love living in an "urban neighborhood"...except for the "urban" part.
