The city is seeking to buy the former Antioch area Kmart store site, which would become home to a new Metro Police southeast precinct and possibly other public facilities.  Mayor Megan Barry is requesting Metro Council's approval to pay up to $7.45 million for the five parcels totaling 25 acres on Murfreesboro Pike near Edge O Lake Drive. In addition to the new precinct, Metro has identified the property as the possible location for a new Emergency Communications Center.

Yes please, Southeast district is insanely large and does not have enough coverage from police. It covers from 2nd Ave and Lafeyette all the way out to the LAKE!

Needless to say it leaves some gaps over here in the northern part of the district.

From Nashville Post:

Nashville-based Southgate Partners LLC will go before the Metro Planning Commission in August to request a final site plan approval for its Southgate Station development underway in Wedgewood-Houston.

If Metro OKs the request, the developers can move forward with the second phase of the project, to include a mix of single-family homes, townhomes and stacked flats. In February, the LLC (which is affiliated with Mt. Juliet-based Landmark Homes) paid $1.44 million for two parcels at 522 and 524 Southgate Ave., spanning 1.02 acres and on which the 23 residences are planned.

The meeting is slated for Thursday, Aug. 10.

Once finished, Southgate Stationwill offer 69 residences. The development will sit on the north side of Southgate Avenue between Martin Street on the west and Rains Avenue on the east. Pillow Street splits the full site.

From Nashville Post with new rendering:

Core Development has landed three permits related to its Alloy on Tech Hill project (400 Heron Drive) under construction in South Nashville. The permits have a collective value of about $6.4 million. Nashville-based The Carter Group is handling the job.

Core Development has tapped EOA Architects to design the project’s four-story ALLOY condo building. Both are locally based. A late 2017 completion is tentatively slated.

Core is rehabbing an existing building and constructing three new structures with a mix of residences and pop-up retail, maker spaces and/or home-based offices.

What is even more revealing is the fact that the condo building next door will be loosing their views out the windows on that side. People have a responsibility to do their due diligence when buying a house or condo, by knowing what can and cant be built next door.

I spoke to one person that was looking at Summer street lofts before the Bristol was built but it had been mentioned. The lady was commenting on the view of downtown and I told her a 6 story apartment building would be built across the street and she changed her tune. These people get caught up in the excitement of the moment and do not ask the right questions when buying.

A Greensboro, N.C.-based developer has a project with 339 residential units on the drawing board for nearly 30 acres on Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch. The Carroll Cos. bought the greenbelt site at 3300 Murfreesboro Pike, northwest of Mt. View Circle, for $3 million on Monday.

Under The Carroll Cos.’ plans, The Cascades will include 264 two- and three-bedroom apartments with monthly rents ranging from $1,000 to $1,500. Plans also call for 75 townhomes that will rise two and three stories high with most having built-in garages.

On Aug. 24, the developer will seek final site plan approval from the Metro Planning Commission to permit the $45 million project.

From Nashville Post:

Work is set to update the Wedgewood-Houston structure to be home to Diskin Cidery.

Adam Diskin and Todd Evans plan to open the facility (pictured) in December, after originally eyeing a mid-2017 date to be operational.

A permit, valued at $1.5 million, has been issued for the work. The Carter Group, also based in Wedgewood-Houston, is handling the job.

Located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Gray and Martin streets, Diskin Cidery is expected to be Middle Tennessee’s first commercial operation making hard apple cider.

Has anyone see anything more about this property on Nolensville. It looks completed and updated to me.

I've read that it was going to be a 312 Pizza Company, but this article is from late 2016.

attached is pre-renovation picture. Quite the change.

From what I hear, it's moving forward soon. Red Bicycle will relocate from just down the street to the same building as 312. They've already given their landlord notice - so I'm guessing construction is imminent.  Sure hope so. Image below from Nashville Post  :-)
