The mixed-use project that covers several acres in WeHo including 640 & 714 Merritt, 520 Hagan, and 700 Hamilton is getting a bit more definition.  It will feature 3 buildings with 314 residential units and 25,000 sq. ft. of office/retail space.  Two of the structures will be new, and another rehabbed.  Nathan Hysmith and Beau Fowler are the developers, and it is being designed by two architecture firms: EOA Architects and Manuel Zeitin. No renderings or groundbreaking dates have been announced.  The team will go before Metro Planning Commission on May 28th to try and finalize rezoning approvals.

That area of town is densifying very fast! I like smaller buildings in the outer ring of the core. That way the taller buildings can be seen better from a distance and the city looks very dense. More!

I like the "old" style warehouse windows of that rendering.

It took me the longest time to figure out what's in the background of those two pics. On a good note, there's so much density that's new and spread out now to Midtown. On a not-so-good note, it all looks very much the same.

On a better-than-good note, all the new stuff looks better than the 35-year old Renaissance hotel.

The Cascades (eleven 3 story buildings with  264 apts, and 75 townhomes on 30 acres at 3300 Murfreesboro Pike) is finally getting underway via 11 permits worth a combined $104 million.  The project was  proposed several years ago.
