That site has been an absolute disaster. They shut down one or two lanes of Martin St at least once or twice a week, with no flagger. Their subs park on the sidewalks, they’ve done a terrible job with trash and erosion, and it’s just generally a cluster. I’ve been in the neighborhood for over five years and we’ve never had this big of an issue with a construction project.

The erosion control has been beyond awful.  There have regularly been piles of large rock and debris all over the street on Merritt adjacent to the site.

So...shut 'em down and then publicly shame them.

There is some controversy about the public shaming sign. The nearby residents are saying they do not oppose the shaming, due to how bad the conditions are + why did it take metro so long to take action after filing months of complaints

Yeah...weird situation.  When it goes that far and takes that long and ticks people off enough to publicly shame...well...dang.

In a somewhat unusual move, Metro has required that construction stop on a residential project in Wedgewood-Houston due to multiple worksite safety and sanitary concerns.

Until the recent stoppage, construction had been ongoing since 2019 at the 27-unit Hamilton & Martin, located at 601 Hamilton Ave. An entity affiliated with both Franklin-based Willow Branch Homes and Encompass Land Group (which seemingly are affiliated) owns the South Nashville property and is undertaking the project. Officials with the two entities could not be reached for comment.

Metro Councilmember Colby Sledge, in whose District 17 the property sits, told the Post the worksite “has created an unsafe environment for workers and residents alike.”

Until the recent stoppage,

So normally if there are tons of complaints, safety issues, and multiple worksite violations, they just let them keep going?

Mercedes-Benz of Nashville has purchased another 14.33 acres for $3.75 million near its dealership west of the airport.  The new site will apparently be for high-end autos of other brands and is located at 2300 Knights of Columbus Drive, just to the east of the Briley Parkway/I-40 interchange.  The Knights of Columbus have owned the property since 1966, when they purchased it for $24,400.

Two hotels, Avid (4 stories, 95 rooms) and Candlewood Suites (4 stories, 95 rooms) are being planned on 4.44 acres at 350 Harding Place, on the NE quadrant of the intersection of I-24 and Harding Place.  An LLC associated with Manek Holdings (which also owns the Radisson Red Hotel conversion of 333 Union St.) is the developer. Design Group out of Memphis is the architect.
