The 1.91 acre site of Pilgrim Emmanuel Church at 945 South Douglas Ave. has sold for $3.6 million to an unknown LLC. In 2017 there was an unidentified developer who wanted to develop the site with 36 residences.  It is not known if this is the same entity. The church bought the property in 1968 for $2,250.

Looks like the Fairgrounds will be getting some new art soon. Here are the artists they are down to.

Can't wait to hear the uproar from the SOF folks: "The Fairgrounds ain't no place for art; unless it's a race car!"

Looks like the Fairgrounds will be getting some new art soon. Here are the artists they are down to.

These are all awesome choices with some great examples of modern sculpture. I'd like to see more art like that around town in general.

3040 Sidco Drive (132,000 sq. ft. warehouse on 7.2 acres) will be overhauled with 25,000 additional sq. ft. added for a total of 157 K in office space for creative businesses.  Forstone Capital, which bought the property for 12 million recently, is the developer.

Adam Diskin is selling the 1.8 acre to the north of his Diskin Cidery in WeHo to an unidentified developer for an undisclosed price. Metro filings refer to it as Finery North show a 4 story building along Martin St., linked by a connector bride over an alley to a proposed 6 story building.  Hastings Architecture is handling the design. Metro Planning will review the requested zoning change from industrial to residential/retail/office on Dec. 12th. No renderings as of yet.

8th Ave. South and Gale Retail Center refurbishment  and addition (1 story) update. Most of the brickwork on new facades complete.

A Best Western hotel (4 stories, 82 rooms) is being planned for 510 Collins Rd. in Antioch, just the the SE of the Bell Rd./I-24 interchange. A permit for $7 million has been granted for initial construction.  The developer is Winesburg Builders LTD.  No rendering at this time.

I'm not sure what's replacing it, but I hope the facade is updated so that it matches Orange Theory — right now the contrast between the two is very jarring.

It will be interesting to see how the old CVS strip center does. I know Chase is opening a location there, but of course there will be lots of other bays to fill. And the other strip center planned for the stretch from the (now closed) Little Caesar's to (also now closed) Bolton's will also need tenants. I guess the market can support it?

Fermosa is a good man. I wish him the best and hopefully someone can replace the efforts he put in.

Hopefully someone who will pay the bills and respect the time  constraints which I hear were ongoing issues. In the short term, most folks living nearby will be elated.
