Yes the parking garage to the left of the tower when on Tryon is rising.  Looks like the office tower is up to 13 working on 14th floor.  Gone is the view of 615 South College totally blocked now.

Actually they are up to 11 and working on 12. Based on the construction docs that big space on the bottom is considered one floor.

I see how I was miscounting the floors completed now, the floor I thought was the 2nd floor is really just a mezzanine.  Photos from today and I did see the crane base on the stadium block where the huge parking garage will rise.  (no photo)

Construction has paused today and tomorrow and Monday but surely will resume Tuesday. Merry Christmas from Legacy! I hope in the future they put up a HUGE tree in that plaza off Tryon.

probably a stupid question, but how do they decide where to start putting the facade?

Do you mean, in general, how do they decide where to start building the facade of a building like this? If so, then it's all planned before they ever move a single pound of dirt. The architects and engineers prepare structural diagrams that are specific practically down to the level of every bolt. (Not quite, but pretty close.)

I "think" what he means is how do these professionals decide where and when to place the outer skin. When to start. If to go at a certain date, or to follow other construction sequences, as time allows? The façade carries no weight thus is independent of structural issues so how is the timing of placement made? Is it particular to each project? When machinery is available, space for storage of panels, etc.?

Those pictures are great. Church St. would be a great street if not for the drab from Ink & Ivy’s to Trade St.  it’s great, but that would make Church probably the best street uptown.

South College is also a gap that needs to be filled.

I would love for College, Tryon, Stonewall, Church, Maybe MLK all be contiguous areas of active uses and great stroll. Obviously the others have a way to go
