They should have this with the Panthers instead no? That would be awesome considering it is right in front of BoA Stadium

Instead no? Does that mean you want this or not? I think that it is in poor taste. If we must have something, lets show the world that Charlotte is a sophisticated city and not a place dominated by basketball.

Right, corporate and sterile is in much better taste.

Hey gman, is Greenville ever going to get a new tallest ?

I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future. All of the large projects proposed or currently under construction downtown like Camperdown and the federal courthouse are all going to be between 5-15 stories tall. The only site I could see maybe and it's a big maybe getting a new tallest would be county square: https://upstatebusinessjournal.com/news/county-votes-negotiate-developer-county-square/

Greenville rocks in my opinion. A new tallest would just be icing on the cake, if only because the current centerpiece is so damn brutal.

Question regarding the other possible building at this location. Hypothetically, if a tower was magically ready to be built tomorrow would they start building it now or would they have to wait until the first tower is complete?

Neither, because nothing could magically be ready by tomorrow.
It'd have to go through the planning department, and then be issued permits first, and we would have seen that. Not to mention they'd have to issue a RFP to area contractors, which I can usually get access to.

If all those things magically happen, the current tower has nothing to do with others being built, unless its built over/into the midrise portion of the tower. After that the last variable is the availability of labor. Now that concrete is finished being poured on 300, Crescent Stonewall, Ascent, and etc, you could probably find labor for at least the foundation, and superstructure pouring of a building.

PS. I have it on good authority that the plan is not nearly as fluid as Johno has let on, and there are numerous towers and retail bases drawn. I'd expect an announcement before the end of 2017 on the next phase.

We can only hope LS3P won't be the only architect. And that Johnny Harris is on a month-long vacation when architectural plans are signed-off.

Nah, it'll be Caesars Palace Charlotte Edition, including the buffet, minus the gambling,
