With the decimated line and loss of Olsen, I'll just drop this classic here (even though I remain optimistic):

We had injuries last year but still made the playoffs and would have won the division if it had not been for the tiebreaker with the Saints.  I expect Olsen to be back at some point but the rookie tight end is showing a lot of potential.  I certainly agree that we should take it one game at a time, but I do remain hopeful that we will host a playoff game in January and see that lit pyramid!

Herd through the grapevine via  my architect fiance, that a firm in Atlanta got a call about designing a 44 story building on the Legacy union site. 44 STORIES!

Ill see if I can get any more information.

I wouldn't be mad at that. lol. Who would have though 10 years ago that this would become the "beefy" side of the skyline, vs N. Tryon.

I've heard about a pair of 32-36 floor buildings drawn for mint st at one point early on, but that was a while ago.

It's now also clickable.  Office and retail totaling 412k sq ft.

That doesn't sound like it could be 44 stories, but ???

I'm flabbergasted that this space will have an office tower. theres only 23k of floor space there. Thats a skinny 18-19 floor office tower. If it has a pyramid or dome, or pediment on top I'll be very upset.

Being on a trapezoidal piece of land should help the architecture of this building.

I thought this 650 South Tryon tower was at S Tryon and Hill that is not trapezoidal.  Is that where this mystery ATL firm designed tower might rise 44 floors?  Lincoln Harris is the most secretive developer in town.

Is it likely that 650 S Tryon and/or another tower will start soon?  Since LH built (and continues to build) the Capitol Towers on spec., maybe it will do the same  with the smaller tower on the LU site Uotown.

Are there no design firms in Charlotte or Raleigh?  Evrytime I see a contract go to a Georgia firm, it's money leaving North Carolina.  Pisses me off.

Yes, the 412k is correct. 17 stories, about 300'.  Maybe the 44 story tower is something entirely different.
