This is from in front of the Stadium. It is really rising fast. Today.

Apparently BofA signed a short term lease extension in BofA Plaza through 2020.  Unclear if all of those jobs will be moving afterwards or they are creating flexibility to assess their Charlotte space needs in 2019.

 

On that skyline view above, LMC's 33 stories and 25 story Intercontinental will really bridge the northern gap.

Should be 3-4 more towers of various heights there too.

Yeah, the scepticism is warranted, but I'm confident it will rise. If not this cycle hopefully one of the first out of the gate on the next.

went by on Tryon St this afternoon and it this un-named building is up to 2 floors working on the 3rd. the tower is very close to the College St side,

How much space do they have in that building? I know it is 891,000 sq ft but I have heard over the years they have been shrinking their space there. Perhaps we bumped into each other today. I love the "job site dress code" sign. At first glance it almost looks like a "you must be this tall to ride" sign.

Yes that side view from Stonewall is the best view from the ground. I was amazed at a weeks progress. This tower is going up fast. Looks like a floor a week to me.

Regarding BofA Plaza.....BofA leases ~415k there.

Bank of America wants their name on all 4 sides of the new 33 story tower and I think it is okay. Imagine the visibility from the stadium and televised football games. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2017/07/31/two-banks-seek-signageon-new-office-towers.html  Most every city in the world has tons of signage atop buildings but Charlotte is one exception. We have just a couple of towers and how Grant Thornton got their name atop Charlotte Plaza was some marketing genius for they really dont have a lot of space there.

Bank of America as do most banks have their names on buildings all over the USA it is branding and especially since Regions is putting their name on 615 S College  tower.

I'm glad they haven't tried to add signage to boacc, that would be a crime against a beautiful design. I hope they never do.

For reference, Key Tower in Cleveland by the same architect just without the crown at the top.  Where the signage is placed wouldn't work on our version.  Agree in that I hope they would never try.
