Well, Even amongst this world changing pandemic Nashville is making travel lists for 2020. Pretty much the only city I know that is still making these types of lists which really tells you something about Nashville's appeal as a tourist destination.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestravelguide/2019/12/13/forbes-travel-guide-20-top-destinations-for-2020/#120619373df2

It is one of Forbes top 20 destinations in the world to travel to this year (if you even can)

https://www.cntraveler.com/gallery/best-places-to-go-in-2020

Same with conde nast (which by the way includes whole countries in comparison to Nashville, a city of half a million!!)

https://www.globaltravelerusa.com/leisure-lifestyle-awards-2019/

It was ranked the best leisure destination in the USA for 2019, beating New York, New Orleans and even Las Vegas which is unbelievable to  be honest.

I am hoping that these accolades will translate to more international tourism after the pandemic is over. I really think the African American Museum of Music will do wonders for Nashville's perception abroad, which still sometimes can be too 'honky tonk'. Everyone stay safe and healthy and Nashville strong!

Surveys, rankings and travel polls like these have always been highly questionable. These were all developed months ago and are no longer relevant. The pandemic has totally uprooted all domestic and global travel.

Davidson County notched $1.12 billion of commercial real estate sales in the first quarter, a haul that wound up just shy of the record set in 2019, according to data crunched by Stephen Prather, broker at Charles Hawkins Co. "The good news is that the Nashville was absolutely booming in the 1st quarter of 2020. The bad news is that March 31st, 2020, seems like a lifetime ago," Prather wrote in his report. "So, where do we head from here? The only answer I can give is: Forward."

A 13-year aged Tennessee bourbon whiskey backed by a host of celebrity investors is about to make its debut in the Volunteer State.

The roster of around 40 investors behind Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey is studded with names like Peyton Manning, Andy Roddick, Jim Nantz and Nashville singer-songwriter Drew Holcomb.

Sweetens Cove Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey is meant to be an authentic spirit that stands on its own, a "love letter" to Tennessee in a market largely dominated by Kentucky products.

Remember the study was done in 2018, so it is 1 and a half years old. I hate studies that are that old and why to they wait till now to get them out.

The study was done recently, the data is from 2018. I assume its much like the delay in Census data. The bureau has to wait until a year is complete to start putting the data together, which itself takes another 6 months to a year.

Another East Coast financial giant is opening an office in Nashville this summer.  Jeffries Financial Group, which has completed more than 540 mergers and acquisitions, with a value of more than $465 billion. The firm has 15 other U.S. offices, and 14 more in Europe and Asia.  No word on where their location will be in Nashville, or how many employees.  It appears they will open in August sometime.

Wouldn't call it an accolade, but Rolling Stone did a piece on Nashville's delayed COVID response and the people flaunting the rules.

Yet despite that article and the stuff chronicled Nashville's numbers have continued to fall like a rock all of August. Because usually the "outrage" events aren't what really spreads the virus.
