Is that a news aggregator site or something? There's no byline for the writer and at the bottom it says something about it first appearing in the New York Times.  Aside from some weird grammar issues, what made it an "amusing hit piece?" You've railed against zoning and how it leads to a lack of affordable housing and that's exactly what is happening in the neighborhoods referenced in this article

Here's the full article, BTW. It has pictures

From NBJ today:

Nashville’s industrial vacancy rate is at an all-time low. The figure was hovering around 2.8% at the second quarter’s end, according to a market report from CBRE Inc. So far this year, the city’s new industrial builds have already outpaced 2020’s by more than 430,000 square feet, the report says. The news comes in spite of rising interest rates and turbulence in capital markets.

This seems like a legit "accolade" for Nashville, as opposed to all the asinine listicles that are usually posted in this thread (unsolicited opinion dump, sorry). I wonder how this compares to other metros around the country.

In part two of that survey CNBC listed TN among the top 10 worst places to live citing "inclusiveness and crime" for its low rating

Where is the link to the article?

You can sort that chart in the article Mark linked in. TN ranks 42nd out of 50 for "Life, Health & Inclusion".

Other ranks for TN by category:

  • Workforce: 15th
  • Infrastructure: 8th
  • Cost of doing business: 8th
  • Economy: 2nd
  • Technology and Innovation 28th
  • Business Friendliness: 23rd

I do find it curious that in infrastructure they don't take into account people transit beyond highways/roads.

Here is the link to the survey's methodology
