Seriously--I mean, why can't these Federal courthouses turn a profit already?  The prisons have figured it out, I think it's about time for the courthouses to get their act together. 

If they weren't so mismanaged, they would've just taken Lake Palmer via imminent domain (who's going to stop them?) so they didn't have to clear the site in the first place.

I wasn’t trying to be political at all. I was just joking about how federal projects seem to move at a snails pace while private developments seem to typically move faster (Lake Palmer being an obvious example of an exception).  And I’m all for the feds making sure all the financials work out right before starting, and using less expensive demo techniques. After 20+ years of delays with this courthouse I’m excited about it being built now!

Construction bid awarded to Hansel Phelps, which is simultaneously working on a $240M phase of expansion at Nashville International.

The five-story courthouse is scheduled to open in spring 2021 — which will be just about 30 years after federal officials first deemed the existing downtown courthouse "inadequate."

Yeah I used to see him there all the time when I lived in Bellevue. I almost hit him with my car one night. It was like 11 and I was driving down Hwy 70 S and all the sudden I see a rhinestone covered suit with bell bottoms running across the road near Burger King. Thankfully I was able to avoid him
