American Idol Audition Bus Tour is stopping in Winston-Salem

The auditions, which will begin around 8 a.m. Monday, are being held at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. ‘Idol’ hopefuls will line up and audition for one of two of the show’s producers.

Yeah, this seems to be a "last chance" bootleg tour. But as I recall, there have been some winners coming out this tour from years past. Best of luck to all contestants...

It's a good thing that we have the Winston-Salem Open to provide some international exposure.

Contrary to mistaken assumptions; American Idol producers say footage from the Winston-Salem bus stop will air sometime between January and March.

The next “American Idol” may come from Winston-Salem. In August, Tiquila Wilson, a 24-year-old Winston-Salem native, wowed preliminary judges from “American Idol” when their tour bus was visiting the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. And in Wednesday night’s episode of “Idol,” she also impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. Wilson sang "Someone Like You" by Adele and talked about her church influences and her desire to promote God and "go out in the world and reach other people."

And she won’t be alone in representing North Carolina in the Hollywood rounds. Other contestants from the state include Caleb Johnson of Asheville; Majesty York of Goldsboro; and Amber Renee Dundee and T.K. Hash, both from Charlotte.
