American Idol Audition Bus Tour is stopping in Winston-Salem

Recommended Posts

Yeah, this seems to be a "last chance" bootleg tour. But as I recall, there have been some winners coming out this tour from years past. Best of luck to all contestants...

Too bad they dont air the bus tours on television. Would have given the city some exposure

It's a good thing that we have the Winston-Salem Open to provide some international exposure.

The next “American Idol” may come from Winston-Salem. In August, Tiquila Wilson, a 24-year-old Winston-Salem native, wowed preliminary judges from “American Idol” when their tour bus was visiting the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. And in Wednesday night’s episode of “Idol,” she also impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. Wilson sang "Someone Like You" by Adele and talked about her church influences and her desire to promote God and "go out in the world and reach other people."

And she won’t be alone in representing North Carolina in the Hollywood rounds. Other contestants from the state include Caleb Johnson of Asheville; Majesty York of Goldsboro; and Amber Renee Dundee and T.K. Hash, both from Charlotte.

It's a shame that she will not be going forward, but you have to respect her courage to make such a decision.

Tiquila Wilson’s quest to become the next American Idol has ended, but the judges didn’t vote her out. Wilson, a 24-year-old Winston-Salem native, left “American Idol” in tonight’s episode for her own reasons. What do you think of Tiquila Wilson’s decision? “I just felt like ‘American Idol’ wasn’t for me,” she said, “and when I got on that stage, it was totally different.
