So WW with the NP teases us with this (a taller tower)... ummmm, wtf? http://nashvillepost.com/news/2013/9/25/proposed_roundabout_tower_could_rise_taller_than_originally_proposed

According to the Tennessean, there are 10,000 apartments underway right now.  And this bodes well for new apartments in the area...

Apartment vacancy under 5%, from NP:  http://nashvillepost.com/blogs/postbusiness/2013/9/25/nashville_apartment_vacancy_rate_at_41_percent

And Terwilliger has selected the site of their first apartments downtown (I believe this was posted also in the Sobro thread): http://nashvillepost.com/blogs/postbusiness/2013/9/25/terwilliger_pappas_wants_residential_building_on_rutledge_hill

And more luxury apartments in the eastern county from the Tennessean:   http://nashvillepost.com/blogs/postbusiness/2013/9/25/terwilliger_pappas_wants_residential_building_on_rutledge_hill

Finally, another big complex in Williamson (Tennessean):  http://www.tennessean.com/article/20130925/WILLIAMSON/309250177/2095/BUSINESS02

I'd say there's plenty of anecdotal evidence to support that Nashville is in a boom.

  • 4 months later...

New rendering does seem to show 18 floors on the downhill side.

Ummmm....I think I sorta like it. It will definitely have an impact on the Music row area skyline. I like that it is wide and has height.

Not quite sure what changed in the new rendering other than the height and the balconies?..ohh and the lack of trees and orange awning

I agree with you John, I would have sold. But maybe she truly does not care about the money, only the legacy of her dead husband.

That is the beauty of individual choice, wants and desires.

Good point, Todd. But her children or grandchildren could have used that money for all kinds of positive things (education, healthcare, philanthropy, etc.). But, yes, she probably didn't care about the money. That's good for her, because now her property is essentially worthless.

WW

She could stay put and sell the air rights to her property, which I'm sure will be worth a good bit of money...

Air rights can, indeed, be valuable depending on the city and the setting. I don't see that in this case. But I could be proved wrong.

Oh my God I thought this was dead

Noooooo!!  It's like a zombie!!

Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but I keep telling myself that this is just some bad college project or something since they can't be bothered to spend the time or money to construct a website better than the circa 1997 Geocities style website they have now. haha
