Any sort of commercial investment (beyond a check cashing, pawn or gas station) in that dead stretch of Union ought to be looked at as a positive.  Last time I was in Memphis was the beginning of May and I noticed all the motels/hotels/office that look ripe for revival, and not necessarily in their original context. Good to see info on Memphis... more please.

Ok not many fancy pictures but I have been waiting for this.  First is the proposed renovation and modernization of the convention center.  The second picture is the proposed 900 million dollar addition which would cross interstate ramps, trains tracks, etc and end at the river with a view.

I love you Memphis, with all my heart...but that thing is unbelievably horrific in every possible way.  I might be able to excuse the 'cheap Tunica Casino' design if it really addressed the street well and provided a lot of retail and amenities for the community, but it doesn't do that either.  So you basically have a cheap casino design wise, and 'state prison/mental hospital' in terms of form and function when you account for the weird low rise spray-painted solid black, the long drive way, and the surrounding high fence.  I'm not sure I've ever hated a development more than I do this one.  lol

I didn't have the heart to say it first, but you read my mind.

Well there were originally supposed to be townhouses wrapping the garage which would present themselves better to the street.  I think the biggest issue is the decision to paint it a plain black and white it just doesnt fit that style, I loved the original colors even though most people did not.

The first 2 pictures are from the Graceland Hotel on Elvis presley this hotel is really large and the  picture really doesnt do justice.  The 45 acre entertainment complex across the street also pulled a permit last week so construction should start on that soon.

I also have attached picture of highland row in the University of Memphis area that project is really coming along with 1 one the 4 buildings being topped out.  Lastly there are pictures of the new windows being installed at crosstown and the harrahan bridge crossing project the pedestrian bridge is about 1/4 of the way across the mississippi river.

This last project is of Heritage Landing a nice redeveloped neighborhood south of downtown.  These are some really nice apartments and affordable since they use Hope VI funding.

This last pic is for the downtown Laquinta Inn this pic is actually a little dated but the building is a nice size.  There are about 3 more on the same street that should be breaking ground soon.20160711_123805.jpg
