Interesting development.

 

I kind of like the idea of a cordinated sports authroity fior the state.  Something that can help preserve events in lean years and continue to contribute to the economic vitality of the region.

 

I mean it could also ensure that there are not regional conflicts.  Like AA baseball in both Stamford and Bridgeport or something like that.  Its an entity that can help to encourage development in concentrated areas when it involves sports.

Finally, Hartford is expanding it's grip into New Haven.  They are now officially part of the Capital Region.

 

Kidding aside, I think a statewide sports authority would be a great thing.  It could help prevent towns from trying to poach minor league teams from each other and things like that and just try to help coordinate resources and events more effectively.

some of my biggest issues with this state are around stupid territorial issues

 

like.... An arena at the casino that may help the casino, but ultimately hirts the state.  spreading things out into the boonies does little good.
