Demolition work has commenced on the Westside Apts in anticipation of the construction of the new complex.

Yes, unlike some proposed apartment complexes in other parts of the Triad I heard were being postponed due to the winter weather, this project has been going strong. The original complex was torn down at the end of last year/beginning of this year. Property then re-contoured and the first 7 story building is currently being framed. They also went ahead and built the clubhouse up at the entrance to the complex on First Street.  I'd say 4th Quarter 2014 the first units should available for move-in.

Thank you for the update.  These units will be situated perfectly within view of the medical center across the freeway, and will replace buildings that were eyesores to say the least.

I think that they will look pretty impressive as one drives westbound on B-40 heading up the hill toward the Stratford Road exit and project a very urban feel at that height.

These apartments say 'WOW' on the horizon as you drive west from downtown up Cloverdale hill.

It's great to have this urban edge confronting you as you drive through the city.  In the minds of newcomers to the city or visitors, this means progression.  Plus it is just nice to have some juxtaposition along Business-40 since so much of it is the older houses in the inner-ring neighborhoods.
