downtown soccer stadium planned for Greensboro?

looks like a new start up soccer franchise has goals to build a soccer stadium downtown within five years. The question is, can the city support two soccer teams. The Carolina Dynamo is already based in Greensboro and plays at a field at Bryan Park. I do think its a great idea. Downtown would then have two stadiums, the other being the ballpark. A downtown location would draw more people. Hopefully it will be built with expansion in mind for a possible major league team in the future.

 

as far as location, across from NewBridge Bank Ballpark on Bellemeade St would be a good location. The county currently owns the land and its one of the sites that was being considered for the downtown university campus. But having two sports stadiums across from one another might be a better idea.
