The article doesn't say how much space they're vacating. Anyone know if they're taking a smaller footprint?

They’re vacating 35,367 square feet out of the current BofA building.

WYFF TV reporter Tim Waller just reported the BOA move....from the pics he used it appeared the new location was the apartment structure. He should have used this great pic... :tw_confused:

Not sure but they’re going to have to start construction ASAP if they want it complete by early 2020.

Question..Is the site prepared (other than a crane tower base) for construction to proceed? It appears it could be ready to move forward...

Yes. The site has been graded and all of the rock has been removed to proceed with construction.

This will be the tallest building built in Greenville since 1983 and might be the tallest one built since 1966 depending on the height. The only buildings that might be taller if it’s 1983 are Landmark, One Liberty Square, and BofA. The only building that might be taller if it’s 1966 is Landmark.

Landmark: 305 feet

One Liberty Square: 238 feet

BofA: 228 feet

This office/condo building will definitely be over 200 feet tall either way you slice it. Compare that to the ONE phase 2 office building which is 150 feet tall.

This rendering looks quite different than the one in the business journal, which  one is correct?

Will be good to finally see a building with a little height, still wish the appt building was half footprint with twice the height.

This building will not be nearly as noticeable as the other three, however, as the site sits way lower in elevation.

According to Google Earth, Japanese Dogwood Lane just east of Main is 921'. The sidewalk in front of City Hall is 966'. I'm guessing this building will top out roughly equal to City Hall in elevation.

Not quite. City hall is only 120 feet tall. Even with the elevation differences, this office/condo building will still be a good bit taller. Expect it to be right around the same height as the TD Bank building and tower crane currently on site. The Greenville News building is 75 feet tall and the apartment building will be 150 feet tall.

:yahoo: Update on Camperdown project timeline: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.greenvilleonline.com/amp/830112002 AC hotel to start construction in August with office/condo building starting construction in early October. :shades: Completion of project is still late 2019. Three tower cranes on one site...not too shabby.

The top is condos. Pretty sure they don’t want a BOA sign outside their bedroom haha.

True but they are going to be over it looking down at it. Which is worse?  I think i had rather have the illuminated BOA sign at the very top in the middle.

Do construction companies no longer use steal beams when constructing taller buildings? Seems like the rebar, concrete columns takes much longer. I guess its a cost thingy? I have seen smaller buildings such as Top Golf on Pelham using steel beams.

Depends on a lot of factors. The soil in Greenville makes either appropriate, so they’ll weigh money and other factors to select one vs the other. On the other hand, you’ll almost exclusively see reinforced concrete in Miami due to the water table and soil.

Looks like they are using the site of the office/condo building for staging, lots of stuff there. Doesn't look like the office /condo building will be starting anytime soon. :tw_confused:

It starts construction in early October. Did you not read the Greenville News article I posted? Here it is again in case you missed it:  https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.greenvilleonline.com/amp/830112002
