There's really nice layering and depth when entering downtown on Academy. It has really grown to be my favorite vantage point of the city from my time living in the West End.

Going off of the heavy equipment and new survey stakes on site, it appears work has started on the hotel.

The construction firm that built the Auro Marriott duo at Spring and McBee, have said their crew is moving over to the AC Hotel site.

Good hopefully it will get under way in the next year, Same for the office building. How long will it be before the tower crane comes down at the apartment building? Maybe they could move it to one of the other buildings? Hopefully as soon as this summer?

Probably a few more months for that crane if I had to guess. Could be worse. You could be in Columbia. Not a single tower crane in their downtown area right now.

Major digging now underway on hotel site.

Was hoping the office/condo building would go up next but looks like that's not going to be the case. I was under the impression that a lot of the office space is already leased for the first quarter of next year but that building is obviously not going to be ready. I think there really could be a major holdup for it.If not why is it taking so long to get started??

Yeah, the country’s largest bank is taking up most of the space in the building so it for sure can’t get financing and now has stalled.
